Yesterday, if you listened closely, you could hear a collective sigh all over the state of Queensland. Yes, that's right, it was the first day of school. Parents the state over delivered their little darlings to the hallowed halls of their local learning institution, dropped them off with a hug and a kiss, and then made their way in all due haste to the local coffee shop and thanked the powers that be that the holidays were finally over, as little precious may not have survived another week at home.
I took a raincheck on the coffee shop routine and instead came home and listened to the quiet for a little, and then sat down with the juicy blue blanket and watched an M rated DVD for the first time in 6 weeks.
I've now reached the 120 hexagon mark, which means I may actually finish the blankie for Tim's birthday party on February 7. Mind you, it will probably take a full day to finish off all the ends - my least favourite job, and I've managed to ignore it totally so far.

I used to write all the time when I was younger, but I haven't done much in the last few years, and I'm wanting to get back into it. This book is gorgeous and I was up until midnight reading! One of the things I have promised myself to do this year is blog more! And I may have to go buy myself a fancy journal and (gasp) a fountain pen today!
