Welcome to this week's chart! Those who know me will know my opinion of Mr Carey, and after his sob story on various TV channels yesterday, I thought he would be an appropriate subject for this week's chart. So, let's see if he's as pathetic as he makes out, or if it's all done for publicity purposes.
(NB: I'm using the date and place of birth from Mr Carey's wikipedia page, but I'm not sure of his time of birth)
First things first his Sun is in Gemini, and his Moon is in Cancer.
Geminis, by and large, have a short attention span. They find it difficult to settle down and concentrate on just one thing. Add this to his Cancerian moon, and it indicates that Mr Carey is a true romantic at heart, but he falls in and out of love very easily (which has certainly been demonstrated by the string of women in his life). His Cancerian moon also indicates he has the deep desire to be a good father.
Mr Carey's sun has very strong aspects to some of astrology's biggest movers and shakers - Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter and Neptune. Jupiter and Neptune are conjunct (ie right on top of each other) and indicate that he is a bit of a party animal. Again, nothing we haven't seen in the media. On television yesterday, Mr Carey declared that he didn't touch drugs until 1993. I found that difficult to believe prior to seeing his chart, and now I find it even more difficult to believe. The strong opposition between his Sun and the Neptune-Jupiter conjunction indicates that Mr Carey probably has an addictive personality. He has probably struggled with addiction of one kind or another (bearing in mind that drugs is only one sort of addiction) for his entire life.
The strong link between his Sun and Pluto is also very interesting. People who are Plutonian are very secretive. They tend to see themselves as victims and the world as a hostile place. Plutonian people tend to bring massive change and upheaval to those they touch in their lives.
These strong aspects also indicate that Mr Carey probably had an unpleasant childhood. (Googling confirms he makes this statement in his book). His chart indicates one of his parents was very violent and abusive, and probably alcoholic. I don't know if his parent's are still together, but his chart indicates not.
Mr Carey, it seems, has his own violent tendancies, indicated by the strong links between Pluto, Mars and his Sun. Not mindlessly violent, as his father would have been, I daresay Mr Carey has a very short fuse and is probably one of those people who sees red when they lose their temper.
Mr Carey's big challenge in this life time, is to use his experiences to assist others (north node in Aquarius),instead of being self obsessed (south node in Leo). What do you think? Can he do it?
